In the fourth round of today's NHL Draft, the Washington Capitals selected Genève-Servette HC's forward Damien Riat. The 19-year-old Grenat was drafted 117th overall. He is the first Swiss player selected this year.

Last summer, Riat returned to Geneva, his youth team, after having played abroad for three consecutive seasons. In his first NLA season, Riat played 49 games for the Grenats and managed to score ten goals and 14 assists for a total of 24 points.(bsc)
