CHL

Each year every team of the Canadian Hockey League has the option to choose up to two players from outside North America to add to their roster. At this year's CHL Import Draft five Swiss prospects have been drafted.

The import draft is seen as a way to raise the level of competition in the Canadian Hockey League as well as to broaden its fan base while retaining high North American content. It can also be a possible springboard into the NHL, or at least a higher draft exposure.

At the 2015 CHL Import Draft following Swiss prospects have been selected:

-Timo Haussener (F, SCRJ Lakers) as 39th overall by Guelph Storm
-Auguste Impose (F, Genève-Servette HC) as 43rd overall by the Québec Remparts
-Calvin Thürkauf (F, EV Zug) as 59th overall by the Kelowna Rockets
-Dario Meyer (F, SC Bern) as 92nd overall by the Edmonton Oil Kings
-Misha Moor (D, HC Ambrì-Piotta) as 116th overall by the Oshawa Generals

CHL (Canadian Hockey League) is an organization that represents the three Canadian-based major junior leagues WHL (Western Hockey League), OHL (Ontarian Hockey League) and QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).
