AHL - It was clear at the end of the season that HC Ambrì-Piotta was not going to offer Jason Williams a new contract. He would have liked to stay in the NLA, but has now found a new home with the Oklahoma City Barons in the AHL.

The 33-year-old forward has signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers' AHL affiliate, which will last until the end of the 2014/15 season.

During his two seasons with HC Ambrì-Piotta, he has scored 67 points (34 goals, 33 assists) in 84 games. Williams spent most of his career in North America, playing in the NHL (482 games, 230 points) and in the AHL (280 games, 237 points) for various organisations, lastly for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins back in the 2011/12 season.
