The Blick believes that today's preliminary game against Latvia could be Mathias Seger's last game in the jersey of the Swiss national team. And according to 20 Minuten it is even "quite certain" that the 36-year-old captain will step down after this World Championship.

As the Blick expects, Mathias Seger will extend his expiring contract with the ZSC Lions after the upcoming season. To be at his best in Zurich it is crucial at his age that he has enough time to recover during the off-season. This is rather difficult by suiting up for the Swiss national team at the annual World Championships.

Seger himself does not want to talk about it yet: "When this World Championship is over, I first have to process all that has happened - then we'll see about the future," he told Blick's Dino Kessler.
