Spengler Cup

NLA - As Christmas inches closer, the participants of this year's Spengler Cup are on the look-out for possible reinforcement players. In the case of EV Zug, no player apart from the Canadians will be allowed to play in Davos.

"With the Canadians, there is a duty to release them for the Spengler Cup. Apart from them, no-one will get our approval to play there," EV Zug's team manager Reto Kläy says to the Neue Luzerner Zeitung. Therefore, Zug's former coach Doug Shedden, who participates at the Spengler Cup with Medvesczak Zagreb, mustn't even bother to ask for some of his former players.

Concerning their Canadian players, top scorer Pierre-Marc Bouchard has been approached by Team Canada's Steve Tambellini. "I heard that it's a great experience," the 30-year-old says to the same source. "But I want to make the right decision. And for that I need a couple of days." Just as in Bouchard's case, it is not yet clear if Josh Holden will follow Team Canada's invitation.
