SWISS ICE HOCKEY - Thanks to the ZSC Lions' CEO Peter Zahner, the National League teams will receive CHF 3 million more over the course of the next five years out of the league's advertising- and TV-contract deals.

As the Neue Luzerner Zeitung reports, Zahner had wondered about certain expenditures by the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation and correctly concluded that the teams were denied money from central marketing and TV rights.

The league keeps the exact nature of their TV- and marketing-contracts close to their chest, but according to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, SRG and Cinetrade/Teleclub pay the league CHF 15 million per year. As journalist Klaus Zaugg notes, the SIHF has a confidentiality clause in place to prevent the teams to see how much exactly the league makes out of those deals, mostly so the SIHF can keep as much as possible in their own pockets.
