“With the teams we ultimately have to compete with, we’re going to have a coach who can make the proper adjustments during a game, or during a certain period of time in the regular season, or during a playoff series,” the Penguins' new general manager Jim Rutherford said.

According to Timesonline, available coaches who might fit the bill include Ron Wilson, Kevin Dineen, John Steven, and also Guy Boucher.

Tampa Bay Lightning's 42-year-old former head coach arrived in Bern at the end of January, where he had signed a two-year contract until 2016.

As several Swiss media have reported later on, his contract would include an NHL out-clause which is not valid until the end of the upcoming season 2014/15.
