Rumor

According to Norran, who is citing independent sources, Mattias Ritola will supposedly not fulfil his contract with Skellefteå AIK and join another team. This comes after Ritola had denied that he would leave.

Expressen blogger Johan Svensson reported on Friday that Swiss clubs are interested in the forward, including HC Fribourg-Gottéron. There are also rumors about him heading back to Leksands IF, a team he had already played for. However, Ritola insisted on Friday that he has no way out of his contract and will stay in Skellefteå.

Team manager Mikael Lindgren also told Norran today that "he has a contract and I have nothing else to add". The 29-year-old forward scored 45 points in 49 games for Skellefteå. He is signed through 2017. (mso)
