According to the Basellandschaftliche Zeitung, those two new names seem to be ex-Tigers and current HC Red Ice players Florian Dähler and Rolf Portmann. The two forwards combine for an NLB-experience of over 500 games, including 100 in the playoffs.

Furthermore, the Sharks would like to sign youngster Julian Schmutz to a permanent contract. Though, in that matter, the last word lies with his junior team SC Bern. Schmutz had already spent the past season on loan with Basel.

Sharks' junior player Remo Hunziker has not yet decided about his future, while Raoul Seiler and Joshua Theodoridis - who will not get a new contract - leave the club.

Concerning the defense, the Sharks are interested in SC Bern's Elite A junior team captain Yannick Kaufmann and are also looking to add another veteran NLB player to their defensive corps. Fabian Stephan, on the other hand, is likely to decide not to continue his career afetr this season and retire from professional ice hockey.
