As team manager Christian Dubé tells La Liberté (relayed by SwissHabs), HC Fribourg-Gottéron will not extend the contract of forward Antti Pihlström. The Finn had been signed to a one-month contract in September.

"Our financial resources do not allow us to [extend his contract], "elaborated Dubé. "We already have five import players under contract." Philström had been signed due to the injury of Greg Mauldin and the World Cup of Hockey related absence of Roman Červenka.

The 31-year-old forward has appeared in six games for the Dragons, scoring three goals. His contract with HC Fribourg-Gottéron expires on October 8.
