With Marc-Antoine Pouliot back on the market, first speculations regarding his next club have already started. While Blick suggests that Genève-Servette HC might be a potential new home for the Canadian, Le Matin places him further south.

Yesterday, HC Fribourg-Gottéron announced that they have indefinitely suspended Pouliot and are looking to dissolve the contract with the Quebecois. Pouliot himself told Le Matin that he has nobody but himself to blame for the somewhat abrupt ending of his stay in Fribourg, but "what's done is done. We can't go back. But the timing was for sure not ideal".

His agent Derek McCann has a lot of work ahead and was not yet ready to comment on his client's situation to Le Matin. This does not stop speculations though. Blick suggests that with Mike Santorelli retiring, they could potentially fill the vacant spot with the Canadian. Chris McSorley confirmed to the Tribune de Genève on Tuesday afternoon that GSHC is interested in the forward and added that every player starts with a clean slate in Geneva.

The same newspaper, however, reported earlier this week that Nathan Gerbe or Josh Jooris also are on GSHC's list, in case they will not make the New York Rangers out of camp. Both are currently still on the Rangers' roster.

As for the 31-year-old forward himself, asked by Le Matin about potentially joining HC Ambrì-Piotta for the rest of the season, he only says: "We will know more in the upcoming days." The Biancoblù's team manager Ivano Zanatta, for his part, tells Ticinonline that he has an eye on the current situation: "Kossmann likes the player a lot, but there are several aspects to consider."

One of these aspects is for sure Finn Janne Pesonen, as they would not be able to afford both him and Pouliot. The forward has a valid contract until mid-October, but the team is currently in talks with his agent about a potential extension. However, according to Zanatta, while discussions are ongoing, nothing has been agreed on yet.
