The 31-year-old forward started the season with the Anaheim Ducks, but was then sent down by the Ducks. He did, however, not report to their AHL affiliate, the San Diego Seagulls, due to family reason. Thus, he was released from his contract at the beginning of November.
Raymond, who is currently playing in the Spengler Cup with Team Canada, has yet to find another team for the rest of the season. In 609 NHL games, 'MayRay' has scored 271 points (123 goals) for the Vancouver Canucks, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Calgary Flames and the Anaheim Ducks.
