National League

Even though SC Bern had offered him a new contract, forward Marco Müller decided that he would leave the Bears at the end of the season and look for another employer in the NLA, as the Berner Zeitung reports.

Müller hopes to have more ice time and more responsibility in the future. Hence, he will try to find another team in the NLA and leave the Bears, for which he played his first National League game back in the 2011-12 season. This term thus far, Müller has appeared in 29 games for the Bears and managed to put up four points (one goal and three assists).

At the same time, SC Bern's team manager Alex Chatelain is currently busy trying to find a fifth import player since Maxim Noreau will likely be out for several weeks. Cory Conacher, who played for SC Bern last season and currently suits up for the Tampa Bay Lightning's farm team, is interested in returning to Switzerland. However, despite being in contact with him, Chatelain states it is "unlikely" that Conacher will return this season. He is nonetheless a main candidate for the 2017-18 season.
