Citing "several sources close to the club", the Tribune de Genève reported this morning that Chris McSorley's successor would - in all likeliness - be Craig Woodcroft. However, the club now denies having made a decision regarding the vacant head coaching position.

As the team states, they are still in discussions with several candidates and will inform the public once they have made a final decision. As for Woodcroft, the 47-year-old coached Dinamo Minsk (KHL) this past season. Prior to that, he had been part of the coaching staff of the Adler Mannheim. He worked as an assistant coach for them until February 2016, when he replaced Greg Ireland as head coach of the team.

Should the Canadian indeed be chosen, he would, thus, succeed Chris McSorley, who retired from coaching at the end of this past season after 16 years as their head coach and is now the Grenats' general manager.
