According to Raw Charge, the Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned Cory Conacher to the AHL. He is waiver eligible until Tuesday which means any NHL team could sign him. If not, he considers playing in Switzerland again.

This summer Conacher has stated that he does not want to play another season in the AHL, he would prefer to play in Europe instead. "If it's not working out with any type of contract here, then the first look will be going back to Switzerland, for sure."

It remains to be seen if Conacher finds another NHL club. If not, it seems very likely that the 27-year-old forward will hit Swiss ice again. During the 2015-16 season, he was able to put up 27 goals and 34 assists in 62 games for SC Bern.

Past term, the Canadian forward appeared in eleven games for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL, scoring one goal and three assists. However, he mostly suited up with their AHL affiliate the Syracuse Crunch, recording 29 goals and 59 assists in 78 games.
