Mark Streit's contract with the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL expires at the end of the season. The 38-year-old Swiss defenseman would, however, like to stay with his team for another season, as the Journal de Montréal writes (relayed by SwissHabs).

Streit wants to continue to play next season and it would be his wish to stay in Philadelphia, according to the newspaper. The 38-year-old defenseman left Switzerland in 2005 to pursue his dreams in the NHL. After playing for the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Islanders, Streit joined the Philadelphia Flyers in 2013.

This season thus far, Streit, one of the Flyers' assistant captains, has played 13 games, putting up three goals and six assists.
