IIHF World Championship

As Klaus Zaugg writes in the Zentralschweiz am Sonntag, SC Bern's Martin Plüss will definitely not take part in the upcoming World Championship. The same apparently applies to the Minnesota Wild's Christoph Bertschy.

"I had another conversation with him," said Patrick Fischer when asked about Plüss' absence from the list of the new additions for the fourth week of preparation. "He definitely would have had a spot on this roster, but he had some doubts about whether he was still able to help the team." Due to Plüss not wanting to take part, Fischer decided to recall EV Zug's Reto Suri.

As for Christoph Bertschy, who is apparently dealing with a knee injury, he seems not to be an option for the World Championship. Sven Andrighetto will definitely not be able to play due to his groin injury, writes Zaugg. As for the Vancouver Canucks' Sven Bärtschi, who is dealing with neck problems, they are still waiting to get the green light from the NHL team.
