Between 2002 and 2013, Kobasew has played with the Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins, Minnesota Wild, the Colorado Avalanche and the Pittsburgh Penguins. In a total of 645 games, the 32-year-old Canadian has scored 114 goals and 104 assists.
Kobasew was recently sent down to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, where he recorded eleven goals and 27 points in 26 games.
