Equilino put an end to his active hockey career in 2002 after more than 400 NLA games under contract with HC Davos.
He then remained within the club as PR/media officer until 2008, attended further education courses and had various functions within the Davoser Zeitung, Schaffhauser Nachrichten and the Schaffhauser Kantonalbank.
