NLA - After HC Davos' playoffs quarterfinals loss last March, Sandro Rizzi announced his retirement from professional hockey. His team will now honor him and his career before the start of the game against HC Lugano next Saturday.

The forward will be honored by companions, the first team of HC Davos, head coach Arno Del Curto and many more. As hockeyfans.ch further reports, Rizzi's jersey No. 69 will be retired in the ceremony and will be lifted into the rafters of the Valliant Arena.

The 35-year-old native of Samedan played his entire career with HC Davos, playing his first NLA games in the 1996/97 season. SInce then, he has competed in 870 games for HCD, scoring 116 goals and 132 assists. Over the course of 18 seasons, Rizzi was also able to celebrate five Swiss Championship titles (2002, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011) with his team mates.
