After signing defenseman Jesse Zgraggen to a new two-year contract, HC Ambrì-Piotta's team manager Ivano Zanatta is also working hard to finalize their defense roster for the upcoming season.

As La Regione reports, the Biancoblù currently have six defenseman under contract for next season. Team manager Ivano Zanetta is also negotiating with Alain Birbaum. As a consequence, Adrian Trunz and Patrick Sidler as well as Mikko Mäenpää will likely not get a new contract.

Furthermore, Zanatta seems to be interested in SC Bern's defenseman Gian-Andrea Randegger. His contract with the Bears is expiring at the end of term. At the same time, Zanatta wants to get defenseman Misha Moor, who is currently playing for the Oshawa Generals in the CHL, back to the Leventina.

A return of Maxim Noreau is also still possible. The Canadian defenseman, who left Ambrì in 2014 to pursue his career in North America, still has a valid contract with the Baincoblù. A decision, however, cannot be expected anytime soon.

EHC Olten's defenseman Fabian Ganz, however, does not seem to be an option for the Biancoblù anymore. Last summer, he was in negotiations with former team manager Serge Pelletier. Ganz, whose contract with Olten is expiring in spring, is hopeful to resolve his contractual situation soon. He is in contact with several NLA and NLB teams, according to the same source. (bsc)
