Waltteri Immonen has been named assistant coach of the Finnish national team as of the upcoming 2016-17 season. The 48-year-old will fulfill his new task in addition to his on-going job in Zug.

Along with Kalle Kaskinen and the national team's new head coach Lauri Marjamäki, Immonen will lead the Finns through the 2016-17 season, including the upcoming World Cup of Hockey in Toronto in mid-September this year.

The 48-year-old joined EV Zug as assistant coach from Jokerit Helsinki back in 2008 and is currently in his eighth consecutive season behind the boards of the Bulls. (rlu)
