The 22-year-old defenseman joins Red Ice from HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, where he played on loan from Lausanne HC last season. However, he was only able to hit the ice for 35 games for them, as he was dealing with a scaphoid fracture in October and a hurt shoulder later in the season.
Valentin Borlat has played 130 NLB games for Lausanne HC and HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, scoring seven points (two goals, five assists). He will be part of HC Red Ice for the 2014/15 season.
