SCB's Philippe Furrer definitely out for Olympics in Sochi

28-year-old defenseman returned from Atlanta (USA), where he went to for a medical treatment, last Saturday. He says that he has made progress in terms of visual perception, but that he is still far away from even considering to return to the ice.

Participation in the Olympic Games is therefore just not possible for him. Head Coach Sean Simpson will have to appoint a new defenseman to his roster. The two names most often cited are those of Goran Bezina (Genève-Servette HC) and Luca Sbisa (Anaheim Ducks).
