Medical Report

MEDICAL REPORT - In the Canucks' first of five road games before the Olympic Games (3-4 loss against the Winnipeg Jets), defenseman Yannick Weber had to leave the ice injured.

As early as midway through the first period, the Swiss international left the ice and went straight into the dressing room with an undisclosed injury. Being evaluated by the Canucks' team doctor, Weber did not return for periods two and three.

According to Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun, interim coach Mike Sullivan did not want to go into detail about Weber's injury, but said that they will probably have to call up another player from their AHL-affiliate, the Utica Comets. Without Weber, the Canucks are now down to only five defensemen.

If Weber's participation at the Olympic Games in Sochi is in danger is not yet clear. But with less than 12 days until the first game for the Swiss national team in Sochi time is short.
