Medical Report

MEDICAL REPORT - It didn't look good, when Damien Brunner went down after a knee-to-knee hit by Anaheim's Mark Fistric and had to be helped to the dressing room.

It happened with 2:52 to play in the first period between the New Jersey Devils and the Anaheim Ducks when Mark Fistric hit Damien Brunner into the boards. Brunner, who took the hit to his right knee, went down immediately and had to be helped off the ice and headed to the dressing room.

Brunner has been evaluated, but the New Jersey Devils haven't provided an update on his condition before leaving for Washington, where they will play their next game. Whereas Rich Chere of nj.com writes that his injury could "knock him out of action through the Christmas break" one could certainly infer even worse while watching the video.

For the moment only one thing is clear, as Devils coach Pete DeBoer said towards the journalist Tom Gulitti: "Tough break. You feel for him because he was really starting to play well and get his legs, get his confidence. It’s a tough break for him and for us.”
