Matt Fonteyne suffered a lower-body injury in last Sunday's game against HC La Chaux-de-Fonds during the third period. The center will be back in EHC Winterthur's lineup no sooner than the end of November, according to the timeline given by his club. It is not known at the moment, if the club will look for a replacement to pair with the other import, Josh Lawrence.
Fonteyne started well into his first season outside North America, scoring five goals and collecting six assists in eight games. The good performance of Fonteyne and the rest of the team has raised EHC Winterthur to third place in the standings of the Swiss League.
