According to the "Oltner Tagblatt", the 25-year-old forward was hit by a puck above his eye in the third minute of play.
Ramon Knellwolf needed to be stitched up after the incident and did not return to the game between EHC Olten and the Bellinzona Rockets.
Knellwolf will likely be examined again today. It remains to be seen when he will return to the lineup. The forward has recorded seven goals and five assists in 26 games this season.
