The 30-year-old forward suffered a knee injury in the game between HC Lugano and the SCL Tigers on December 23.

As an MRI revealed, he will be out of the Tigers' lineup for six to eight weeks. As Hannes Björninen will thus miss a substantial amount of time, the National League team is looking at the market to find an injury replacement.
Björninen has appeared in 34 games for Langnau this season, recording eight goals and twelve assists.
