Two Swiss internationals suffered injuries during the first period, the third in the last few minutes.

In tonight's Olympic battle between Switzerland and Canada, two Swiss players did not return after the first period. Denis Malgin (ZSC Lions) and Andrea Glauser (HC Fribourg-Gottéron) both suffered injuries and were unable to continue, as was mentioned during "SRF"'s broadcast. In Malgin's case, it concerns the upper body.

With less than three minutes to go, Kevin Fiala (Los Angeles Kings) had to be taken off on a stretcher after getting tangled up with Tom Wilson. He appeared to have suffered a leg or foot injury.
