The forward sustained the injury last week while playing for the national team during the international break.
Bad luck for Gregory Hofmann, who suffered another foot injury after the one sustained during the Karjala Cup in November that caused him to miss eight weeks. This time, the forward of EV Zug will have to undergo surgery and will thus miss the remainder of the season.
This season, Hofmann suited up only in 28 games, scoring eight goals and collecting twelve assists. The last time the 31-year-old scored less than ten goals in a season was in 2013-14 with HC Davos.
