Ten days before the start of the Olympic tournament, Switzerland can rejoice in the comebacks of Pius Suter and Philipp Kurashev. Suter had been sidelined for a month with an ankle injury, while Kurashev suffered an upper-body injury in mid-December. The two players are part of the Swiss selection for the Olympic Games, but their presence was unclear due to injury.

Suter played 18 minutes for the St Louis Blues in the loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets, collecting an assist. For his part, Kurashev was on the ice for 13:30 minutes in the Sharks' loss versus the Calgary Flames.
