His club, HC Ambrì-Piotta, announced that Heim will have to be sidelined for six weeks.
During yesterday's practice session, André Heim sustained an ankle injury. Medical exams revealed a ligament injury that will force the 25-year-old to a rest period estimated at six weeks. Heim will thus miss the World Championship in Czechia.
The Swiss national team will face France twice this weekend looking to end the 13-game losing streak. Puck-drop for tonight is at 19:45 in Basel.
