HC Ajoie's Matteo Romanenghi fined for diving

While skating past an opponent, Matteo Romanenghi fell on the ice unnaturally, according to the Sounding Board. In his disciplinary decision, the Single Judge underlines that such behavior constitutes “diving/embellishment” (Rule 64.1. IIHF), namely an excessive and unnatural reaction to an opponent's action, regardless of whether that action was fair or foul. Romanenghi will pay a fine of CHF 1200.-.
