Having ended the first game of the semifinals with a tie, the Grenats needed to win tonight's game to advance to the finals. After the first period, it did not look good for Genève-Servette HC as they were down 2-0.

However, they managed to tie the score in the second period thanks to goals by Valtteri Filppula and Sami Vatanen, who drew back into the lineup tonight after having recovered from illness. Early in the third period, Filppula secured the lead for GSHC. It was the game-winning goal, leading the Grenats into the final which will be played on February 20. Their opponent will be Skellefteå AIK.
