Champions Hockey League

Lausanne and Geneva will face each other in the Round of 16, Fribourg will travel to Sweden, and Zurich to Germany.

After the last games of this year's Champions Hockey League Regular Season were concluded last night, it is now time for Playoffs. As the seeding wills it, at least one Swiss team will be eliminated in the first round already, since one of the pairings is Lausanne HC (third seed) versus Genève-Servette HC (finished fourteenth).

As for the other Swiss participants, the ZSC Lions (came in second) are facing the DEL's Straubing Tigers (fifteenth) again. When they met back in September, Zurich won with a score of 3-2.

HC Fribourg-Gottéron (finished fifth) will travel to Sweden and play the Växjö Lakers (twelfth seed).

The next possible Swiss duel would only come about in the semifinal if the Lions and one of Lausanne or Geneva make it that far.
