ZSC and GSHC advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions Hockey League

Out of the four Swiss teams in the round of 16, two advance while two have to give up their dreams.

Yesterday evening, the ZSC Lions blew out the Straubing Tigers with an aggregate score of eleven to three. They will now face another German team in the quarterfinals: the Eisbären Berlin. 

Joining the ZSC Lions in the next round of the Champions Hockey League is Genève-Servette HC. The Grenats defeated 7-4 Lausanne HC in the return game of this Swiss derby after already winning the first leg. The Eagles will also play against a German opponent, namely Bremerhaven.

As for the fourth Swiss team in the competition, HC Fribourg-Gottéron, they were ousted yesterday from the tournament on aggregate score by the Växjö Lakers.
