Today, EV Zug announced the termination of their contract with Marc Michaelis. "We have come to the conclusion that we want to take a different approach to our squad planning", team manager Reto Kläy was cited in their press release. Shortly thereafter, the DEL's Adler Mannheim announced they had signed the German forward to a multi-year deal.

Michaelis was a member of Zug for this past season, having joined them from the SCL Tigers. In his youth, the now 28-year-old was part of Mannheim's junior system.

Zug also announced that assistant coach Todd Woodcroft and forward Brian O'Neill would no longer be part of the team next season.
