The Swede will succeed Harold Kreis as the DEL-team's head coach. His departure from Zug was already announced in March.
Roger Hansson joined EV Zug in 2019. During his time in the organization, he figured as their Director of Player Development in addition to his job as EVZ Academy's head coach for two and assistant coach for one year. Now he will take over the Düsseldorfer EG.
Funnily enough, the 54-year-old replaces another former coach in Zug's organization, Harold Kreis. He lead the DEL team for the last four seasons, but in February, coach and club decided to not extend their contract any further.
