The 26-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract with HV71 and will stay in Sweden until 2027.

Aleksi Heponiemi would have had a contract in place with EHC Biel until 2027, but the two parties decided to go their separate ways. While the deal was only announced last week, it had been clear since the end of the season that the Seelanders were looking to find a different solution for Heponiemi.
The Finn has been with EHC Biel since the 2023-24 season. Last season, he recorded six goals and twelve assists in 37 regular-season games.
