Effective immediately - Winterthur's David Madsen off to Sweden

With four games left to play in the Swiss League, EHC Winterthur is eliminated from playoff contention. Thus, they have given David Madsen the chance to finish his season elsewhere - Västerås IK in the HockeyAllsvenskan.

The 27-year-old forward is part of Denmark's extended roster and may get the chance to return to Switzerland for the World Championships in May. His move to Västerås and thus getting more ice time might increase the likelihood of him making the final cut.

In 40 games for Winterthur this season, Madsen recorded six goals and 21 assists.
