Already mandatory at the U18 and U20 levels, the neck laceration protectors are now mandatory also at the senior level. At the moment there is not a precise date for the entry into effect of the mandate, as it will be determined by the supply situation. In the meantime, the IIHF strongly recommends that neck laceration protectors be worn by all players performing in an IIHF competition.
