EV Zug's Leon Muggli made his first National League appearances last autumn The defenseman ended up playing a total of 53 games. Throughout the season, the 18-year-old recorded four goals and ten assists and ranked seventh among Zug's defense in ice time. In the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, Muggli was picked 52nd overall by the Washington Capitals, he has already signed his ELC.
Théo Rochette also made his first strides in the National League last autumn, in his case after returning to Lausanne HC from the QMJHL. With twelve goals and 18 assists in 47 appearances, the 22-year-old Swiss-Canadian was fourth in scoring on his team during the regular season, his four goals and five assists in 19 playoff games were good for seventh.
Last but not least, another case of "first National League steps" - Vinzenz Rohrer. The Austrian in service of the ZSC Lions played a total of 64 games, recording nine goals and 14 assists. He, like Rochette, had just returned from Canada last summer, more specifically from the OHL in his case. And like Muggli, the 19-year-old was drafted - in 2022, at 75th overall by the Montreal Canadiens.
