In good enough health to be able to work part-time, the Finn will support the education of coaches on the U17 and U20 levels.

As the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation announced, they have hired Antti Törmänen to work as a mentor for coaches on the talent levels U17-Elit and U20-Elit. The Finn was head coach of EHC Biel until 2023 when he had to step back from his duties due to cancer treatment.

"Antti's experience and expertise are ideally suited to our strategy of promoting coaching in competitive sport", the SIHF's Director of Education, Thomas Zamboni, notes. "With his support, we want to accompany the coaches who play a key role in the development of our young athletes."

Before his health-related absence from hockey, Törmänen had worked as a coach since 2007. "My health has improved, so I am now able to work at a 25% capacity again", he comments on his new engagement. "I am very excited about this new challenge at Swiss Ice Hockey and can't wait to pass on my experience to the junior coaches and support them on their development path."
