Three goaltenders, eight defensemen, and 13 forwards are on Switzerland's first roster. It consists of players who are already out of the playoffs or the playouts. For EHC Biel's Niklas Blessing and HC Ambrì-Piotta's Miles Müller, it is their first stint with the men's national team.
Patrick Fischer can also count on the same coaching staff that was already part of the Olympics: Jan Cadieux, Marcel Jenni, and Rikard Franzén as assistant coaches, Thomas Bäumle as goaltending coach, Benoît Pont as video coach and Stefan Schwitter as performance coach. Paul DiPietro will reinforce the team during the preparation as a skills coach.
The Swiss will play their first exhibition games against Slovakia in Slovakia on April 16 and April 17. They will then return to Switzerland to play against Hungary on April 23 and April 24 in Biel. After that, the team will take part in the Fortuna Hockey Games (Euro Hockey Tour) and then the Beijer Hockey Games (EHT).
