Canada's Joe Veleno suspended for incident involving Niederreiter

Joe Veleno has been suspended for violating Official Playing Rule 49 (Kicking). The incident occurred at 28:21 in the 2nd period of yesterday's game.

Veleno was intentionally stomping on Nino Niederreiter's foot. The incident was not penalized during the game. "Such behavior is absolutely intolerable," Lars Weibel, Director Sport of SIHF, states. "We very much welcome the fact that the IIHF has taken action here and suspended the player for five games."
