Despite suspension being lifted - Jan Cadieux will not call up Lian Bichsel

Yesterday, journalist Klaus Zaugg reported that the supervisory board of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation has lifted the suspension of Lian Bichsel, which was a consequence of opting out of a call-up for the U20 Swiss squad. It was up to Jan Cadieux, therefore, to decide whether to select Lian Bichsel for the home worlds if the defender would not still be in the playoffs with the Dallas Stars.

As "Blick" reports, Cadieux stated that "that was a majority decision at the time, and that’s how it will stay".

Moreover, according to the same source, discussions are underway to determine whether a way can be found to select Philipp Kurashev for the World Championship, or the insurance cost will be too high. The San Jose Sharks did not make it into the playoffs, but the forward does not have a contract for the upcoming season yet.
