Men's Worlds

With the Asian country pulling out, nothing stands in the way of Switzerland hosting the tournament in four years.

Only one candidate remains as possible host for the 2026 IIHF World Championship. As "Blick" writes, Kazakhstan has withdrawn its application for the tournament, making Switzerland the sole competitor. They still have to present their case, but it is likely that they will end up being the host.

The 2023 World Championship seems to have found new hosts as well. Initially having shown interest, Slovenia and Hungary are no longer candidates. It is thus likely that the tournament will be held in Finland and Latvia.
