Switzerland's game started uphill, with Sweden opening the score in the seventh minute of the first period with Linus Karlsson, followed by five minutes of box play due to a cross-check to the head by Dean Kukan. During the power play, Sweden even scored their second goal, but it was then ruled out due to the puck being kicked into the net. Shortly after, captain Roman Josi evened the score.

The second period turned out to be the decisive one, with Switzerland scoring its second and third goals of the game thanks to Denis Malgin and Calvin Thürkauf (on the power play). The third period remained scoreless, sealing the deal for Switzerland.

On Saturday afternoon, Switzerland will face Norway, who defeated Latvia this evening, for a place in the final. The other semifinal will see Canada and Finland competing.
