Nino Niederreiter recorded the first goal of the night, making it 1-0 Switzerland after six minutes. While Great Britain also had their chances, the Swiss remained in charge of the game for the remainder of the first period.

The Swiss started even better into the second period, thanks to Nico Hischier scoring another goal after only 62 seconds. The Swiss increased their lead in the 29th minute thanks to Simon Knak. Six minutes later, Great Britain also found the back of the net thanks to Josh Waller.

After 52 minutes, Nino Niederreiter reestablished Switzerland's three-goal lead, making it 4-1.  It looked like the game would end at 4-2 as Reto Berra could not clear a puck heading his way, but the goal was called off due to being offside.

The Swiss national team will play the next game of the tournament on Saturday against Hungary. Puck-drop is scheduled for 16:20 CET.
